Join Us for Some Wags and Purrs
Make a difference in the lives of homeless pets

Wags & Walkers was formed in 2005 by a resident and ardent animal lover who saw the need for volunteers to help at the Pima Animal Care Center (PACC).  A group of dedicated folks answered her call for help and came together to exercise and socialize shelter dogs and cats waiting for their permanent homes.  What a journey it has been!

Our mission is to:

  • WALK dogs to improve their chance for adoption;
  • SOCIALIZE cats to improve their chance for adoption;
  • COLLECT supplies for the medical clinic at PACC.
  • ASSIST at off-site adoption events and special events at the shelter;
  • SPONSOR fundraisers for the shelter, spay/neuter clinic & Sam’s Fund, providing treatment for sick/injured animals.

There are many opportunities for volunteering even if you are unable to participate in vigorous activity or travel to the shelter weekly.

Become a part of the solution; it is so rewarding.  You’ll enjoy the camaraderie of friends while walking through beautiful Christopher Columbus Park, giving these animals their only “out” time during that day.  It takes only a few hours a week to help make these wonderful animals more adoptable and they show their appreciation in so many ways.  Wags & Walkers is the perfect organization with no dues, no meetings, no participation requirement.  Help when you can, do what you do best.

No, you can’t take them all home, but you can make a difference in their day and yours.  Why not give it a try?

Here's How You Can Help

  • Donate supplies: We need old towels and blankets, leashes, collars and empty medicine bottles (labels removed).  For a complete list of needed supplies, visit PACC’s website, then Contact Us and we’ll pick up for delivery to the shelter.
  • Can’t go to the shelter but want to help? You can write articles for newspapers, organize fundraisers or maintain our Volunteer Contact List.  Contact Us …we need you!
  • Adopt a dog or cat from PACC: Visit the animals awaiting for a loving home at http://www.pimaanimalcare.org/services/adoptions.asp.

UNTIL THERE ARE NONE . . . ADOPT ONE!
